Kreuzberg 2, Bischofsheim in der Rhoen
It has more of the charm of a canteen than a cozy excursion restaurant, which is certainly due to Corona on the one hand, but with a little more effort it would be possible.
Beautiful
Great knuckle of red cabbage and dumplings. And delicious Kreuzberg beer.
very long waiting times
Very unique atmosphere.
Very unfriendly staff at the food counter. Leberkäse overpriced, also only lukewarm and not good
Corona has struck and it is okay if the data is written down, a place is allocated and a mask is required. But what happens then is disorganized. First of all, see what there is to drink and eat (why isn't the offer on the tables?), As self-service in the outside area. Well, everything selected and now queue up several times and for every little thing (1 euro per dumpling; some sauerkraut 2 € .....) you have to pay extra + deposit for the beer mugs, which you have to return if you don't keep them want to get back in line. The beer is average, but that's a matter of taste. The spaetzle were totally salty. If you have the opportunity, you should eat and drink somewhere else.
Corona measures well implemented, most of them adhere to the mask requirement, exceptions confirm the rule
It is very nice to eat or drink here. The only drawback here you have to get your drinks and your food yourself. The food is delicious, the portions are plentiful and delicious. But the staff is also very nice. You can only recommend the whole thing to enjoy the weather while eating and drinking.
Not recommended during Corona times! In the middle of the week the staff is overwhelmed: tables (with a large gap) are assigned twice or remain empty and you can only hear: the outside area is full !!! There is a very long queue at the food counter (approx. 1 hour), only the drinks are served very quickly. But in the area between the back and front garden, as well as the food and beverage distribution, everything is bustling without space ...
I think they have done a great job solving this with the new regulations and we enjoyed our stay very much despite the restrictions🍻🌞🌞
I have known this place since childhood and it has always been an attraction for many people. Here you can endure to eat well or to quench your thirst with a monastery beer or something else.
Good food, decent portions, good beer at reasonable, reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Nice beer garden.
It is better to drink a lot of beer before eating! For over 40 years I am always a guest on Kreuzberg. My parents got married there in the 50s. This Saturday I was there with my wife to show her the monasteries. Of the food and the "Kreuzberg beer" I had raved her many times before. In summary, I must say that the gastronomic offer in the Klosterschänke can serve as a prime example of the decline of the traditional cultivated guest house culture in Germany: Is this an "amateur" trying to be a restaurateur? No empathy, no sense of tradition, no expertise. One is proud to have replaced the clay jugs with glass pitchers. Aha! The food: many company canteens are better. The roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage (the only bright spot) on cold plates prepared, no decoration, nothing! Everything barely lukewarm. The lentil soup like the roast amateurish, badly spiced, served cheap. Canned soups are already better! The beer (delicious as always) from glass pitchers! In the monastery! Aha, really great! As a manager, I would like to face the food distribution on such busy days and check on-site what's going on and how. And please do not push everything on the staff. There are enough competent employees who work well and motivated against GOOD money. There are enough on-site paying guests daily to guarantee a turnover that offers both the opportunity and the duty of good food. So, do not talk! "Make Klosterschänke great again!" as it is called today!
Good cheap food. Ordinary portions and very tasty drinks. However, a bit too much mass processing for my senses. Nevertheless, friendly service and fast food. As a tourist, you should definitely come by.
Little space but definitely worth a visit. Delicious food and very good beer at great prices.

Good food and very good beer
Food is bland and tastes like nothing. This has nothing to do with Bavarian cuisine and is a mass processing of visitor flows with ready-made Convinenceprodukten. Typical tourist trap. Beer is recommended and delicious. Conclusion: Order beer and put it on the bench with your own snack.
Great excursion and since it's in the middle of nowhere, you'll be thankful they have very inexpensive rooms. It's worth spending the night as the food is excellent, as is the beer, which is best drunk in a liter mug. After a few of these, you will definitely be thankful you have a place to sleep so close. They stop serving at 8:00 PM but you can get one to bring to your room if you are still thirsty. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Large crucifix on the wall might disturb some but turn the lights out, there's not much to do here after the close the brewpub but sleep anyway.
mass tourism and long waiting times at self-service
Mediocre canteen food and mass processing, everything tastes very much like finished products, the plates are already pre-portioned, so the food was only lukewarm, somehow doesn't fit the overall picture of the quaint monastery.
